Viverrids - Linsangs

Finally, the end of the viverrids. I drew them all for my big viverrid analysis on the forums, and the linnies are the last four of thirty-four. I can get onto posting non-viv pictures now

The linsangs are kinda like the littler siblings of the genets. They're very pretty

FUN THINGS TO KNOW:
-The asian linsangs (bandeds and spotteds) are the only viverrid species to have no scent glands (small-toothed palm civet males don't have either, but the females still do). They are thought to be the closest link between cats and viverrids, and will probably be pulled from the family eventually, like herpestids and euplerines.

-Leighton's linsangs are probably just a subspecies of African linsang.

-I met one of my uni friends because she knows what linsangs are. My first day of orientation I'd been quite down because it turned out that not all vet students are zoology nerds (so many favourite animals were 'dog'), so I kept having to explain viverrids. That's ok, I'm used to that. So I was very impressed when I started talking to one girl the next day who liked pikas (yay) and when I explained that binturongs were from a family with civets and genets and linsangs she told me that she knew what linsangs were. And that is how I make friends in the real world
